LM-Kit launches LM-Kit One, a private AI application server for organizations and software vendors.

Document intelligence, knowledge search and AI agents run on customer-controlled infrastructure, with free evaluation and no mandatory cloud connection.

LM-Kit, part of the Calico IIM group, today announced the general availability of LM-Kit One, a private AI application server for Windows, Linux and macOS. It lets organizations build AI capabilities inside their own environment, and lets software vendors deploy those capabilities alongside the applications they ship.

LM-Kit One combines model execution, document processing, retrieval, agents and operational controls in a single product. Teams can extract structured data from documents, build assistants that answer from internal knowledge with source references, and automate work through agents with explicit tool permissions.

Data stays under the customer's control

Fully local deployments run without any external AI service once models are provisioned. The server does not send customer documents, prompts, results or usage telemetry to LM-Kit. Administrators keep control of models, access policies and agent permissions, and logs and metrics are stored locally.

From a single machine to a cluster

Deployments can grow from a single machine to multiple nodes behind a load balancer. Kubernetes is supported but optional: virtual machines and Windows services work just as well. Applications integrate through REST endpoints, OpenAI-, Anthropic- and Ollama-compatible interfaces, or the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Proven inside the group

LM-Kit One has been running within Calico IIM for more than a year, powering group software and operational workflows. The group's companies serve more than 600 customers and bring over 40 years of enterprise content management experience with public institutions, education, healthcare and businesses.

Organizations should not have to choose between using current AI technology and keeping control of their information. We are building LM-Kit One for teams that need both.

Pricing and availability

Development and evaluation are free for organizations of any size, with no time limit. No account, license key or activation is required.

Production use is also free for businesses that meet all three of the following criteria:

  • annual gross revenue below US$1 million;
  • 10 employees or fewer;
  • no more than US$3 million in aggregate outside capital.

Other commercial organizations need a Professional License. Full conditions are set out in the EULA at lm-kit.com/legal/eula.

LM-Kit One is available now for download at lm-kit.com/products/download/lm-kit-one.
